KCB Lions on roared to an emphatic 104-62 win over Nakuru Club while Ulinzi blanked United States International (USIU) 88-77 in top Premier League ties played at Nyayo National Stadium over the weekend.
The marauding Lions, playing their first game since retaining their regional crown at the same venue over two weeks ago, totally controled the tie and thoroughly deserved the victory.
KCB Led 42-40 at the break and pulled away in the last half. Greg Odera, who scored the winning shots in the tournament finals led with 22 points, John Njuguna had 19, Juma Ikapian 16 and Paul Oloo 12.
Nakuru club had 18 points from Edwin Owino and 10 from Edgar Kadima.
Ulinzi trailed the students by a close 45-46 margin at the break but fired up in the last two quarters to take the game in this entertaining fixture.
Victor Odendo continued his heroics as he led the soldiers with game high 26 points while Richard Osanoi bagged 24. For the losers, Abel Nson made 32 and dan Okwiri and Yoni Wanambiro botbb shooting 16.
In the women's fixtures, Yana came down from a 26-35 margin at the break to beat fromer women champions Telkom 72-50. Caroline Achieng scored 23 points and Ruth Wasike added 12 in that win.
Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology (Jkuat) won their first ever lerague tie with a deserved 65-55 win over University of Nairobi "Dynamites".
Irene Atieno scored 21 points while Sylvia Chebet nailed 11. For the sad losers, who beat their rivals both ways last year, Monica Odhiambo shot 23 and Maureen Andalia 19.
