BELIZE CITY (Friendly) - A "friendly" basketball game between El Salvador and Belize has had to be abandoned because of a crowd disturbance.

The crowd trouble began with El Salvador winning 79-69, after a tussle between the players had developed on the court.

Once the crowd began throwing projectiles on the court, the referees took the decision to abandon the game with 45 seconds still left on the clock.

It was the fourth game of the friendly series. On Saturday night, Belize managed to defeat El Salvador 79-75.

Vladimir Aguilar's El Salvador side are using the matches to prepare for the COCABA Championship's semi-finals, when they are expected to meet Mexico.

Belize will host the Mexicans on Tuesday and Wednesday in two matches from Group A, with  Mexico requiring one win in order to secure a semi-final with El Salvador, while Belize would meet Costa Rica.
