CONCEPCION (Centro-Sur) - Chile international Evandro Arteaga was on fire as Universidad de Concepcion maintained their 100% start to the domestic Centro-Sur league.
The weekend saw them extend their winning run to six matches, Cipriano Nunez's troops seeing off reigning champions Liceo Mixto 87-76 on Saturday, Arteaga netting 25 points.
The guard also top-scored with 36 points in Sunday's 115-71 thrashing of Villa Moderna, in which Francisco Avello also contributed 15.
Just behind Universidad are Deportivo Aleman, who won only one of their weekend ties.
Carlos Iglesias' men destroyed Villa Moderna 102-85 on Saturday, thanks mainly to the 39 points poured in by Rodolfo Caceres Melani.
But on Sunday, Liceo Mixto beat them 92-90, a triumph which helped the visitors climb up third spot in the standings, on nine points.
Puente Alto are also on nine points, as a result of four wins and one defeat.
This weekend, they played only on Saturday, Felipe Ziegele and Felipe Valenzuela combining with 27 points each to hit second-bottom Universidad de Chile 91-76.
Fifth-placed Universidad Catolica beat sixth-placed Deportivo Espanol 71-58 on Saturday, but 24 hours later they lost 62-60 at home to Boston College.
Boston College, who lie in seventh place with eight points, defeated Universidad de las Americas 75-72, who also lost to Deportivo Espanol 77-67 on Sunday.
