RIO DE JANEIRO (Campeonato Nacional) - Telemar, Rio Claro and Franca all won their first games of the Campeonato Nacional play-offs.

Telemar beat Uniberso/BRB 95-88 with Arnaldinho netting 21 points including three shots from three-point range.

Luis was the top-scorer on the losing side, bagging 18 points as well as seven rebounds.

Rio Claro won 75-71 away at Ribeirao Preto, with Courtney collecting an 18-point haul. Ribeirao's Alex was undoubtedly the outstanding player on the court however with 28 points and six rebounds.

Franca cruised to a relatively comfortable 87-78 win over Torres with Rogerio bagging 20 points, while Torres' Marcio was unable to stop his side sliding to defeat despite an impressive personal haul of 32 points.
