Group Standings

SHAOXING (2006/07 FIBA Women's World League) - WCBA All Stars China made full use of home advantage in the opening game of this year's FIBA Women's World League.

They crushed Russia's Baltiyskaya Zwezda 65-30 in Group A of the fourth instalment of the tournament which brings together the best women's clubs from five continents to determine the number one side on the planet.

Lei Ren led the scoring with 12 points for the hosts, who won every quarter convincingly.

China international Xiaoni Zhang also chipped in with 10 assists, rendering Olga Iakovleva's 11 points and eight rebounds little more than a consolation for the visitors.

The preliminary round of the competition is split into two four-team groups, with Group A also including Australian side Canberra Capitals and TEO of Lithuania All Group A games will be played in Shaoxing, China.

Group B games, meanwhile will be played in Pecs, Hungary and contains Djoliba AC of Mali, Cuba's Basketball Club Habana, hosts MiZo Pecs, and CTNW of Chinese Taipei.

The top two clubs from each group will advance to the final round which will be played next year in Russia.

Volgaburmash Samara from Russia, who won every title since the competition's 2003 inception, are not involved in the Preliminary Round.
