Standings

SHAOXING (FIBA Women's World League Day 2) - Lithuanian side TEO made it two wins from two in the FIBA Women's World League Preliminary Round on Saturday after thrashing hapless Baltiyskaya Zwezda 92-49 in Shaoxing.

TEO came into the match having humbled Australian outfit Canberra Capitals 85-63 in their opening match on Friday while Russian side Baltiyskaya were still reeling from a 65-30 defeat to WCBA All Stars China.

It was little surprise therefore to see TEO dominate Saturday's clash against their European neighbours. Paced by Egle Sulciute, TEO were in control throughout and led 17-7 after the opening period and 45-22 at the break, an advantage they never looked like squandering.

Sulciute led all scorers with 26 points - including three of four from three-point range - while Sandra Valuzyte added 15 points, six rebounds and six assists for the victors. Valuzyte also scored 18 points in the win over Australia.

Baltiyskaya's leading light was teenager Maria Cherepanova with 12 points and 11 rebounds - the only player from her side to reach double figures.

In Saturday's other match, home side WCBA All Stars also picked up their second win with a 65-54 victory over the Canberra Capitals.
