CARTAGO (COCABA Championship) - Costa Rica defeated Belize 2-0 to qualify for the COCABA Championship's finals and secure a place in the upcoming Centrobasket tournament.

Costa Rica showed no mercy in Sunday's Game Two, destroying Belize 140-73 thanks in part to 24 points from Henri Martinez.

The Costa Ricans had already won Game One 104-94 on Saturday.

Costa Rica will now face either Mexico or El Salvador in the final.

The COCABA Championship offers three berths to the Centrobasket championship, which takes place in Panama this year.

Costa Rica changed coaches before the round, as Rodolfo Fonseca asked to leave the national team due to some professional commitments in Guatemala.

The Costa Rican Basketball Federation named Alejandro Fernandez as his successor.
