CONCORDIA (FIBA Americas U18 Championship) - Argentina U18 coach Guillermo Narvarte has declared himself "satisfied" with his 21-man preliminary squad for next month's FIBA Americas U18 Championship.

Narvarte was already training with 11 of the group - cut from an original 22 - who are being joined by 10 Liga Nacional starlets in Concordia city.

Narvarte said he was "satisfied" after managing to "test a lot of guys".

He added: "Some of them showed a notable development, especially tall players, in which we're more interested in, because this is a natural deficit in Argentinian basketball."

Nicolas De los Santos has special permission to link up with the squad later as he is playing in the Liga Nacional finals with Gimnasia y Esgrima.

"This second stage will be a decisive one, as now 10 players with experience in Liga Nacional are joining," Narvarte said.

The FIBA Americas U18 Championship will be played between June 28 and July 2 in San Antonio, USA.

Narvarte will trim his squad further in the coming weeks.

Argentina squad:

Leandro Ivan Cecchi, Sebastian Uranga, Jonatan Machuca (all Ben Hur), Maximiliano Tabieres, Federico Aguerre, Leandro Podesta, Martin Miner (all Boca Juniors), Pablo Heit, Pablo Orlietti, Eduardo Spalla (all Atenas), Alexis Elsener (Union Electrica - Cordoba), Nicolas Lauria (Penarol), Juan Sebastian Morales, Nicolas de los Santos (both Gimnasia y Esgrima - Comodoro Rivadavia), Matias Nocedal (Argentino - Castelar), Diego Gerbaudo (Regatas - San Nicolas), Facundo Pineiro (Quilmes), Enzo Ruiz (Argentino - Junin), Fabian Oscar Sahdi (El Nacional), Gonzalo Traverso (Obras Sanitarias), Sebastian Vega (Central Entrerriano).
