Search crews off the coast of Newfoundland on Monday recovered the body of a man who had been reported missing after he failed to come home from a cabin Sunday night.

The body of the 72-year-old man was recovered Monday morning in waters near Hall's Bay on Newfoundland's northeast coast.

The Coast Guard vessel Ann Harvey and a ground search team had been searching for the man since Sunday evening.

During the night, searchers found his small boat adrift and partially swamped.

The man's name has not been made public.

Elsewhere, an Armed Forces Cormorant helicopter that had been involved in the search has been redirected to the Labrador coast.

Search-and-rescue officials in St. John's say a call was received about 1 a.m. Monday, indicating a vessel was in difficulty off Fox Harbour, in southern Labrador.

The report indicated that people were in the water.

In addition to the Cormorant, the Coast Guard vessels George R. Pearkes and Harp are investigating.
