LAGOS (Vmobile Premier League) - The fortune of basketball basketball club of Lagos in the ongoing Nigeria premier league slips further down the ladder last night when it lost it fifth game of the season to Dodan Worriors basketball club 70-64 in a match it looked good in the first two quarters to win.

The coach Toyin Sonoiki tutored former league champion was the better of the two side in the early part of the game cutting the fast pace Warriors to size but soon cave in the last minutes of the third quarter thus allowing the Owoicho Alexander coached Warriors to take the lead and refused to look back until the final whistle of FIBA graded referee Babatunde Popoola who took control of the game with occasional caution of the Warriors bench assisted by Tony Emuwen.

With Friday lose of 12-09, 17-16, 21-23 and 14-22 for a cumulative score of 70-64 points Islanders though will make the final-4 playoffs but its hope might be dashed if the league advisory committee of the Nigeria Basketball Federation decides to make it a one off final-6 due to time limitation.

The inability of the Islanders players to find the basket from the line was one of the greatest sin committed by the Joshua Agbona captain side with youthful forward Azeez Oladimedi being the worst culprit with six straight points misses from the free throw line in the early part of the game which would have counted for his side while Warriors points guard pint-size Seyi Ahmed being the most outstanding player on the Warriors line-up sinking the Islanders with three points shot after shot.
