:: WIN a trip to the FIBA World Championship Finals weekend ::

PANAMA (FIBA World Championship) - The President of the District Basketball League, Arquimides Bedoya, announced the change of the Metrobasket Tournament schedule to facilitate the Panamian National Team trials in view of the FIBA World Championship later on this year.

Panama will play at the 2006 Centrobasket Tournament and at the FIBA World Championship in Japan.

Because of that the Metrobasket Tournament will start its second round on June 1 as Galácticos de Juan Díaz, Grillos de Río Abajo, Toros del Chorrillo, Canguros de Parque Lefevre, Monarcas de San Miguelito and Canaleros de Arraijan qualified.

Also Metrobasket will continue on the following weekend.

The tournament will not be played on Tuesday and on Thursday to allow the selected players to be present at the trials practice.

Michael Hicks who joined Parque Lefevre will also be on the trials.

The trials begin on June 5 at the EPIHO arena in Paitilla with Guillermo Vecchio, Reggie and Enrique Grenald.
