TORONTO (National Team) - Canadian basketball national team players Denham Brown, Jermaine Anderson, and Jermaine Bucknor have been invited to the 2006 Toronto Raptors Pre-draft workouts.
Anderson had the opportunity to workout with the team last week, while Brown will showcase his skills Thursday, and Bucknor on Friday.
Toronto native Denham Brown is a 22 game veteran with the Canadian national team.
In 2005, Brown averaged 29.7 minutes during the FIBA Americas World Championship Qualifier and averaged16.7 points.
The 6’5" guard also averaged 5.7 rebounds.
In 2004, while attending the University of Connecticut, Brown became just the 12th Canadian to win the NCAA Championship.
Another Toronto local, Jermaine Anderson, has been with the Canadian national team for the past two seasons, appearing in 11 games.
In 2005, Jermaine appeared in all four matches of the FIBA Americas World Championship Qualifier averaging 15.8 minutes and contributing nine assists.
While attending Fordham University, Anderson averaged 33.7 minutes and 12.6 points, while adding 75 assists in his senior season.
Jermaine Bucknor, a 6’7" forward from Edmonton, Alberta, has also been with the Canadian national team for the past two seasons, suiting up for a total of 16 games. In 2005, Bucknor averaged 27 minutes in an exhibition series versus Angola scoring 9.7 points and securing 6.3 rebounds.
While playing his final season for the University of Richmond, Bucknor averaged 29.3 minutes and 10.7 points.
Toronto currently holds the first overall pick and the 35th and 56th selections in the 2006 NBA Draft that will take place June 28, 2006.
