NAIROBI (Premier league) - East and Central Africa club champions KCB Lions, national champions Ulinzi Warriors and Co-operative Bank of Kenya over the weekend posted wins in the Premier League matches played at Nyayo National Stadium gymnasium.

Lions came from behind to roared past a hard fighting United States International University (USIU) 91-83 in double overtime in a cracking tie.

It was a sad loss for USIU who led for most of the game until the dying minutes. Lions forced a 61-61 tie in regulation time and 72-72 in the second over time to win this pulsating game.

Dennis Opiyo nailed 21 points, Juma Ikapian 24, Tobias Onyango 14 and Paul Oloo 12 for the regional kings.

USIU had Abel Nson with 29, Dan Okwirri 16 and Yoni Wanambiro 15.

National champions Ulinzi Warriors had 30 points from Ancette Wafula as they esaily beat Kenyatta University "Pirates" 76-62.Martin Obure shot 18 and Griffin Ligare 10 for KU.

Co-op, on the other hand needed 24 points from professional peter Kiganya as they whipped winless University of Nairobi "Terrorists" 76-49. The students Ben Ogalo hit 12 points.

Defending women champions Kenya Ports Authority (KPA) nailed Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology (Jkuat) 94-22 behined 25 points from Rose Ouma.

The ports ladies, who also dethroned their rivals in the regional finals in April, also whipped Sprite Storms 61-38 behind Gladys Wanyama's 12 points. Hilda Luvandwa who shot 19.

USIU women ended their dismal run in the league when they stunned Yana 67-65 ina close match.Angela Okoth led with 22 points and Mitchele Otinda added 18.

Yana's Volnet Wanyana pepped her side with 25.

International Christian Center (ICC) beat Coast Youth Club 77-67 behind 16 points from Vito Kote and 13 from Franklin Delano. Robert Mugabe bagged 10 for the losers.
