Great Basin NP Offers Free Tours of Lehman Caves on Public Lands Day Sept. 29th

Great Basin National Park Superintendent Cindy Nielsen announces, “In honor of National Public Lands Day, September 29, 2007, scheduled tours of Lehman Caves will be free of charge.”

The Lehman Caves tour schedule for Saturday September 29, 2007 is:

90-minute tours 9:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m.
60-minute tours 11:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m.
All times are Pacific Daylight Time.

It will be necessary to have a free ticket for a cave tour September 29, 2007. Tickets for tours will be distributed on a first come, first served basis.  Cave tours are limited to 20 participants. The park advises visitors to plan ahead and consider Advance Ticket Sales.

Advance tickets may be reserved from one to 30 days in advance of the scheduled tour. The telephone number to purchase advance cave tour tickets for Lehman Cave Tours is (775) 234-7331 extension 242. Phone orders are taken from Monday through Friday 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.  The last day to reserve a ticket, on a space available basis, is Friday September 28, 2007, for Saturday September 29, 2007.

Great Basin National Park does not have an entrance fee.  Across America National Parks are celebrating Fee Free Day in conjunction with National Public Lands Day.
