Saturday, October 13 Who Let The Dogs Out
Join hike leaders Kimberly and Paula for a dog-wagging good time and enjoy a day at the park with your pet! This ‘dog hike’ is for dog lovers and their trusted canine companions. Learn about the mysteries of the Mojave Desert and the importance of keeping your pet close when wild animals are in the vicinity. Your pet must be on a 6-foot leash at all times and have current shots. The group will be having a potluck dinner along the way so bring something to share with others; utensils, a plate, a drink, and something to sit on. This is a moderate 3-mile hike along the Old Lakeshore Road which is now a section of the River Mountains Loop Trail.

Saturday, October 13 White Owl Canyon
This hike begins near the waters edge and follows a narrow canyon back towards the mountains. Explore down a winding wash looking for signs of wildlife with Joan and Chuck. Return cross-country as you traverse the desert near the old Lakeshore Road. This is a moderate 3-mile hike

Sunday, October 14
Mojave Desert Surprise
Learn about the surprising life of Mojave Desert animals and plants at this early evening program at the Boulder Beach campground. Possibilities may include a short walk that provides beautiful lake views. This is an easy 1?2-mile hike with no reservation required.

Cranes Nest Rapids
Celebrate National Trails Day by meandering down a scenic dry wash and into a narrow canyon to the Colorado River in Arizona. Wear sturdy boots for this moderate 5-mile hike with leader Doug. A 4-wheel-drive is required

Sunday, October 21
Historic Railroad Tunnel Trail
This hike is led by Carleton and Carol from Red Rock Canyon Interpretive Association. Please call 515-5367 for details and to register.

Monday, October 22 Anniversary Narrows
Hike up Lovell Canyon, a dry desert wash, to the remains of an abandoned town site. On the way we will pass Rainbow Canyon and walk through the Muddy Mountains most scenic canyon. This is a moderate 5- mile hike with hike leader Larry.

Wednesday, October 24 White Owl Canyon

Liberty Bell Arch
Traverse a narrow wash through ancient river beds with hike leaders Joan and Chuck. On the way to Black Canyon view a natural arch created by wind and water. This is a moderate 5-mile hike with some rock scrambling.

Sunday, October 28
Ejection Seat Ridge This hike traverses along a few ridge lines with views of beautiful Lake Mead in the distance. Colorful red sandstone serves as a backdrop as you view Callville Bay and the rugged Muddy Mountains. Discover the remains of an old ejection seat from an airplane along the way. There is some rock scrambling on this moderate to strenuous 5-mile hike with Joan and Chuck.

Monday, October 29
Rainbow Canyon
Hike through the reds, yellows, and purples of Rainbow Canyon to the remains of Anniversary Mine where the borax mineral colemanite was mined. Hike back through Lovell Canyon on this moderate 5-mile hike with hike leader Larry.

information and reservations call the Alan Bible Visitor Center at 702.293.8990 between the hours of 8:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. Reservations are required on all hikes. Please leave dogs at home unless the hike states otherwise.
