Great Basin NP Establishes the Darwin Lambert Artist-Writer in Residence Program

Deon and Trish Reynolds, noted Nevada photographers, are the first recipients of the Darwin Lambert Artist-Writer in Residence Program at Great Basin National Park. The writer-artist in residence program was created in honor of the late Darwin Lambert. As a proponent for the creation of Great Basin National Park and other parks, Lambert authored Great Basin Drama and other literary pieces.

Park Superintendent Cindy Nielsen noted, “We are thrilled to be able to honor Darwin Lambert’s legacy at Great Basin National Park in this way. And we are grateful to his friends and family who have made generous donations to establish this program.”

The Artist-Writer in Residency Program will be offered on an annual basis, giving selected artists and writers the opportunity to live and work in Great Basin National Park. Two to four week residences are scheduled annually for September and October.

More information about this residency program can be found at the Volunteer link on Great Basin National Park website www.nps.gov/grba. Interested artists and writers can also call 775-234-7331.
